After his retirement from professional football, Mike pursued a degree from the Palmer College of Chiropractic. Now, Mike owns one of the most respected clinics in the area, focusing on his impact in the city that raised him. His personality is unforgettable, and his patient care is unparalleled. At Valente Chiropractic our massage therapists are trained in a variety of techniques including deep tissue, Swedish, myofascial release, hot stone therapy, and trigger point to address our patients' individual conditions.
The Purpose of a chiropractic manipulation is to restore proper joint motion to the are adjusted. Often, joints become hypo-mobile and restricted. At Valente Chiropractic we are expertly trained to adjust the spine and also the extremity joints. We specialize in manual adjusting including use of a drop table and flexion/distraction.
At Valente Chiropractic patients are regularly shown specific rehabilitation exercises that will help correct any muscle imbalances, stabilize areas of excessive mobility, increase mobility in tight areas, and aid in the healing of injuries. These techniques are a vital step in ensuring the cause of any musculoskeletal problem is fixed.
A hypoallergenic elastic tape used to support and stabilize muscle groups without restricting the natural motion of joints. Kinesiology tape will also lift the skin off of the muscles, allowing increased blood flow and oxygen to the are. This will decrease muscle fatigue and speed up recovery while significantly reducing bruising and swelling caused by acute injuries.
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is used to detect and break up scar tissue and muscular adhesions. Scar tissue and muscular adhesions are usually the cause of pain and decreased range of motion, which can limit athletic performance and, in some cases, may be at the source of an injury.
A myofascial technique, Cupping Therapy is an ancient Chinese form of alternative medicine that has been effective for generations. At Valente Chiropractic we use a silicone cup to decompress the soft tissue, which will in turn increase blood flow, break up adhesions, and reduce swelling.
